Courses are a great way for you to Engage your Church. Courses are available on-line and include content that is made up of short 5-10 minute teachings, discussion questions, and homework. The encouragement is to do these courses as a team. Currently we are offering two courses.
The first course is called “The Get Engaged Model” ($299). This course offers a complete structure for taking people from first time guests to becoming part of the leadership and eventually a church planting team. This course is 8 sessions and can either be done in a two day intensive or over the course of eight weeks.
The second course is called “The Next Steps” ($49). This course offers a practical way to help your team provide clarity for people who are joining your church. This course is four sessions and can be done in a four hour block or over the course of 4 weeks.
Weekend Experiences are another name for two day (typically Friday/Saturday) intensives that help your team work through the organizational complexities that you are currently facing. The experiences either follow the course content of one of the courses listed above, or an agreed on issue facing your church. Weekend Experiences are done in your context with the hope that your full team can participate in each session, learning how they themselves can work through the organizational complexities facing your church. Weekend Experiences typically cost around $6000 (inclusive of travel), and includes six months of monthly coaching. If this price tag is concerning, don’t hesitate to ask a business leader in your church or community to consider sponsoring a Weekend Experience for you. Go to the 'about’ page and click on the ‘Pitch to business leader’.
Coaching can be done one-on-one or in a cohort type groups. Sessions can be weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly depending on the need of your team. The goal of coaching is to guide, affirm, and direct you and your team in the process of building organizational structure. Coaching is best done when your team has participated in a weekend experience and/or is using one of our courses as a basis for discussion. For more information on coaching, click the button below.
Engage the Church started with the practical needs in our own church planting experience. After gathering a crowd and seeing them stick around, we soon figured out that we needed a organizational structure to help us take care of people (much like the Apostles in Acts 6 or Moses in Exodus 18). After developing a primitive structure, I went on to do my doctoral work in ministry leadership, fully developing Engage the Church into what it is today. The result of that doctorate was a book called “Engage the Church”. Every once in a while I also blog about church leadership and other musings.
